Astronauts Visit JPL, 1966 [photograph].

Visiting astronauts, Surveyor control. 21 July 1966 [Description from photo index.]. Left to right: Leonard Jaffe, Barney Huber (their personal tour guide from the director's office), Al Worden (Apollo 15), Ken Mattingly (Apollo 16, Bumped from Apollo 13), Jack Swigert (Apollo 13). Groups of Apollo astronauts visited JPL to look at Surveyor photographs of the lunar surface. Dr. Leonard Jaffe, head of the Materials Research Section, provided information recently received from Surveyor 1. This lessened fears that rocks, dust, or unknown terrain might interfere with or limit photography, landing, walking or driving the LRV (Lunar Roving Vehicle).
